GOING OUT
Primary school pupils have an enormous thirst for knowledge that cannot just be satisfied in the classroom. They should be given the opportunity to research in libraries, visit museums or see
church bells, for example, as part of a ‘going out’ programme. The starting point for the excursion is always the children's individual interests and current field of research. A ‘going out’ is
always a self-organised excursion for a small group of pupils and therefore differs from a class excursion. In the prepared environment, appropriate material is needed so that the children can
act independently. As is the case for all materials in the environment, the teacher demonstrates how to use them in a presentation.
